I am in the middle of working on next years schedule and with hosting Rotax nationals and having the Rotax shootout in July I'm thinking about dropping 2 races and going back to a 8 race series. February always stresses me out so that may get dropped but I'd like to hear opinions. If we do so it may open up some other options for us through out the year. And go.........

More races!  I think it differentiates CMP from other tracks by giving the opportunity to race nearly all year long.  Any ways to encourage northern racers to come down for the winter races?

Why not go 8 races and leave a date or two open for rain dates.

To me racing in the rain is like taking a shower in the rain...You can do it but why would you want to....

I'm okay with eight races and doing away with the February race.

Sun, rain , snow ... all great experience.  Just wish David would put the weather for each race weekend on the calendar a few months in advance!

Im Predicting 80's and sunshine every race next year Skip! But this is why I put it out there you guys are the ones spending the money so that's why I feel everyone has a say so in the matter. I still have a month or so before I complete the schedule so I will continue to listen.

Even though I HAVE YET to make a race weekend, I am closer than EVER to making it. If I can get my poop in a group I will make at least one before the year end.

My opinion? Let's plan on 8 dates with 10 races? Drop February and either July or August (whichever is the hottest and has the least historical attendance)?

Have the 8 dates, but make 2 of the eight double headers, a Saturday and Sunday?

Make sense?

I am in Illinois right now. Won't make it back til Friday evening. I will be at the track for sure, but wont' have my stuff together in time. My wheels should be at the house when I get home so I can mount some tires.

I will make the season Finale in December for sure. Then on to February and next year. Will be runing a clone until I can scrape up the funds to refit an LO206 on the Ol' SLOPOKE......

You and Pops going to be there?

good deal....we should be there saturday...i want to watch the top three battle it out for the points championship these last two races...should be a lot of jocking for the top spot as close as the racing has been this year. i hope David skips February and puts that race in somewhere like a night race in the hot months. anyway safe travels and we will see you there if its the Lord's will.

Not a fan of double-headers.  One race day per month is perfect.  Taking up a full weekend for kart racing would be too much IMO.  Have other stuff to do on the weekend!

I am OK with dropping February.  That race is such a crap shoot and more often then not it's a miserable race.  I wouldn't mind moving it to July and having it as a night race!  That keeps the 10 race schedule but just starting in March instead of Feb...

If the 8 race schedule is better for CMP, dropping Feb and December would likely be the way to go...

I like the idea of dropping the Febuary and December races and add a Night July race with fireworks (July 4th is on a Saturday in 2015) you can't get more American than combining Racing and Fireworks together...the only thing that could possibly beat that is if David could train some Bald Eagles to do a fly over while wearing American Flag tophats and giving everybody a thumbs up!

I like the way Bruce was thinking...  rain dates.  I absolutely hate rain... I'm from Seattle and I moved to SC, in part, to get away from it!  I'm still trying to dry my feet out after moving here almost 6 years ago!  Seriously though, like this coming weekend when it looks like rain... what if there was an alternate date for the race?

I also like being able to race year round... it's something that can't be done in most of the country.  Maybe a "winter classic" mini series... Dec, Jan, Feb...  Then a regular 8 race season.

It's been awhile since I've posted on any forum... I probably should put the keyboard away now.
