Due to a general consensus we will be phasing out the clone engine this year and replacing it with the Briggs and Stratton LO206. As we all know the clone engine has become more than just the box stock engine that we started with years ago and cost has been driven up so we thought the LO206 sealed engine is the way to go. You can still run your clone this season and we will mix in the new engine with a weight break that we will determine in the coming weeks what's fair. We have brought on some new sponsors for the senior class to try and boost entries so we want to make it as fair and as even of a field as we can get with out breaking the bank. As soon as I put all the rules together I will post and feel free to comment and let me know your thoughts,Thanks!!

Cool. Almost ordered a clone this weekend. Looks like it will be an LO 206 instead for my daughter.

How many of us are switching to LO206 by the first race? Can we switch at a later date and still be in the points running? How many Juniors will be running 4 cycle class and also be running the LO206 this year? Austin will be running one of them for sure. Thanks, Tom Williamson

I'll probably be running a clone this whole year and just switch at the end.

I'll probably have a lo206 on one of our karts. Just not sure which one.

I have ordered my lo206. Jaxon is still going to run clone atleast for a portion of the year. For this year either engine is legal for the points. The Maxxis tire rule is the only must for the points system.

I think this is a great decision (and I have 5 or 6 Briggs flatheads and $$$ worth of parts, so I empathize with the clone owners) That said, I am interested in buying an LO206 to race. Will LO206 run gas or methanol? Will you adopt WKA rules regarding type of clutch, header and silencer? (I don't want to buy a bunch of stuff before you guys set the rules) Hopefully you won't need to add a ton of weight to the LO206, since this is the class you are trying to build Thanks for any info you have at this time. In fact a legal 206 is slower than the updated clones.

Welcome Ken
As far as I know, we will be using WKA rules as guide but will be using Maxxis tires. David from CMP is still working out final rules So the clone and 206 can run on an equal ground.
I do know we'll be running on gas and using Maxxis tires.

Hey and I welcome you too Ken, yeah i know what you mean by having a couple of shelves of flatheads ourselves along now with the clones but its all good. i think the LO206 will be good for now to equal the field motorwise and ease the perception of cheating. as Bruce said we will be running gas and by WKA/ B&S LO206 rules except tires and clutch. most racers have both styles of clutches already. the pipe is a 5506 or 5507 with the RLV B91 muffler. there will be a weight break, but none of us have a LO206 yet to test on a kart against the clone to see how much is needed.

Well.......Actually....
Mine came in today.
I'm going to mount it on Krista's Kosmic and put the clone on Johnny's CRG. I don't know if the CRG will be ready or not but I'll have the Kosmic ready for the weekend.
