Care to elaborate?

First off you make it sound you are doing me a favor. Which you aren't, then you make it sound like you are in a position to make the rules for the class, which you aren't.

My question was, and still is, what rules.will the clones be running? What will the tire.rules be if any.
All I am trying to do is get ready for the season. Are you planning on running at CMP or Palmetto?
What compounds and sizes of Maxxis will be legal?

whatever!!....sorry to hit a nerve but was just messing with you since you and Randy did ask for the tires to be opened up so you could use Maxxis tires but Maxxis went a step further by sponsoring the 4cycle series and going to add to the series this year...so yeah the tire will be a Maxxis.

you are right, i dont make the rules but i can share that tidbit of info with everyone...i know i will buy 4.5x5 and 7.10x5 SLR but it is a maxxis series so i cant see why you cant run those HG-1 until they run out of them...

do you build your own motor or get Joe to help you with it or buy from a name builder?...regardless we ran WKA clone rules and since WKA isnt promoting it for the 2014 season they shouldnt/wont make any changes to the 2014 tech manual-clone section- so everybody from this past season is still set for this coming year. that shouldnt be a problem for you and then you will know that you are in the same boat...i might be wrong about the changes but i havent got my tech manual in yet and you are right i dont make the rules but im at the track.

i will run CMP and Palmetto....

truthfully Mike, if you get a set 4.5x5 front and 7.10x5 maxxis and a clone from Joe, i think you will be ahead of the game.

Todd,

There is no need to come off as though you were joking. You have a habit of rubbing people the wrong way with your short caustic comments. Then when they call you on making pointed comments, you try to make it sound like you were joking. Like the old saying, "Many truths are spoken in jest".

As you may have surmised, I don't have much of a filter and a pretty low tolerence level for bull crap.

You could have just let that "tidbit" out without making it out like you were doing me a favor.

You need to get your facts straight, I didn't ask for ANY SPECIAL CONSIDERATION. I asked that since WKA is bailing on  the clone class for the Gold Cup in 2014, what was the rule structure going to look like and was the tire rule going to remain the same.

As for the tires, NO ONE has made an official communication as to whether it is "OPEN TIRE" or if we will be allowed to run the current Bridgestone spec AND a specified Maxxis Spec. (which is what I would recommend) But only if it saves the racers money and isn't a rules management headache for the track and series. My goal is to be low maintenance fro David and crew at the track and build the class.

I want to change the rules if it helps build the class and save the racers money, not just changing rule for the sake of change.

With that said, they way to look at it is to try and build parity between the two tires. Let's take a durometer and test the compounds and compare the two. Then specify a tire that is pretty close.

As for what I plan on doing, I am going to build my own engines and try to get setup as best I can. Not sure if you know this or not, but I have had a bit of experience racing karts since I started racing at Rockingham in the late 1980's.

I look forward to getting out on the track, I have been trying to get there for the last several season's but just haven't been able to get my poop in  group as they say. Hopefully, this will be the year.

Oh well... OFF TO EBAY TO FIND SOME USED MAXISS!

Hey Todd, any chance Maxxis would step up and sponsor Palmetto too?
