All I need at this point si a mounted set of wheels and tires. I thought I had a set bought, but the guy never got back with me after we had agreed on everything.

You thinking about going? I though that you had sworn that place off?

Either way, I will be there with or without a kart. HOPEFULLY with a kart.

Sorry to hear that about your dad. I always enjoyed visiting at the track with him. Hope it's nothing serious.

I have plenty of tires mounted. But no legal GC sets. I have some Dunlops, Maxxis, I even thing I have a set of Vega Reds somewhere. They are all old as I am. I understand that we must have the GC tires to be legal.... right?

Other than that. I am good to go... I think. I am guessing at the set up, I just want to get it close and hope to be able to adjust up on a setup that will work for the fossil I will be running. It had always been a good chassis, no reason for it not to be at Kershaw.

There you go, Fossil Racing! Ha!!!! whoda thunk!!!

Thanks..He is fine now....just got to finish healing with time.....if it was me, i would race with what i had until i got the right tires.....like you said you need
to shake the kart down and it cost to practice or race and least you would have some peeps to run against. just tell the guys in the class up front...they wont beat you up
about it.....they are good people.

i think you are onto something about that Fossil Racing.....i think you will be tired and probably have to stop and let Ted be your relief driver....lol   just messing with ya!

I saw what you did there.... "Fossil' moment..... Heh...heh....

If memory serves me, the tires you have are Maxxis HG1, R2 was a Dunlop road race compound from 1988 to 1990!!

You know me, I don't have deep pockets like some people, that are race directors on their off days!
I may be interested if we can get the rules questions for next year cleared up, ie. what are the clone guys running since WKA has seemed to pull and support for the class.

Does this mean we will have an open tire rule and not be held to running the 5 inch Bridgestones as required by GC rules?

Anyway, you know my number, USE IT SOMETIME!!

Mikey...unless David changes things just for CMP's monthly series(thats his call)...the bridgestone is locked in for a couple more years for the Gold cup and Man cup because of availabilty (money) to their series.

havent got the 2014 tech manual yet but im betting the rules for the clone won't change much since it will be a local option in the Gold cup.

i just made the suggestion for you to run what tires you had until you have the chance to buy tires. since most of the time there are just 4 regulars in the senior class, just speaking for myself, i dont have a problem with what 5 inch tire you run, cause i know you will abide by the tire rule as soon as you can. futhermore you will be faster on the stones than the tires you have listed. i just want to see you out there on the track and not on the fence.

for the people (adults)looking at this forum and wanting to get started racing....i would buy a briggs LO206 over the clone and over the rotax. clone prices are elevated and too many weekly .5 hp aftermarket parts. so far the lo206 has the bottom end sealed, so teching is easier and cant change camshaft of the month, pipe of the month, and use to be flywheel of the month. doesnt mean in the future that its fool proof, but its a more level playing field for now even over the rotax and the clone.
