Was wondering where the best place was to go for information on road racing going on in the Southeast might be.  I had hoped that it was here and that we'd have more active participation on this forum.  I've been to EKartingNews and have an account there.  Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Moe.  I'm planning on heading down to Roebling for the day this weekend to check things out.  Will you be there?  They sound like they're going to have an AWESOME cook out!!

Hey Scott, Are you getting into karting ??  The SKC is a good group.  I raced with the a few times a few years ago....but now I've moved on to less competetive sports.  If I were to get back in, it would be a clone class kart.  Check them out and enjoy the feast !!!

My wife is wanting a baby and I know that will end my SCCA road racing. I'm trying to gain knowledge about karting, classes, expenses, etc. The clone class sounds like it probably has the cheapest engines, but TaG, shifter, and DD2 definitely peak my interest as well. Will have to sell my SPU Baby Grand car, but I'm certainly checking things out.

i run scca as well as a rotax max.  Rotax is spec, fairly cheap, and easy to keep running.  my buddies have shifters and work on them more than dive them.
contact cmp or ap karting in atlanta.

The Rotax Max sr. and master classes are great, both classes have great competition in the area. The Rotax can also be run in the tag class. The engine is easy to keep going, and lasts a long time. It is more expensive than other karting engines but is one of the most reliable engines. In sprint racing the DD2 class does not usually have many entries if any, however the road racing DD2 class does seem to have some karts. As for chassis the Arrow, Birel, CRG, Swiss Hutless, and Sodi are popular in this area. I run an Intrepid chassis and I have found it is a very fast and tunable kart.
Thanks
